Condition of my "B" at purchase

Purchased January 31, 2004 for $80 0 cash
from an owner in Collierville TN (near Memphis).

Not running, but reportedly running about two years ago. I verified that at nearby shop. Owner bought it from his uncle, who bought it from an Arkansas used-tractor dealer, maybe 10 years ago.  Stored outside under a tarp at owner’s house on his driveway (selling it for space).

Engine turns freely, compression builds strongly. Owner said engine was rebuilt 2-3 years ago when he hoped to make a pulling tractor of her. Not sure what that rebuild included or its quality. Done by a friend of owner who works as a Caterpillar mechanic.

Hood is "uncut."
Serviceable rubber on all tires – well, they hold air. Unmatched 12x38's on rear.

Extra stuff that came with the tractor (included in $800 price):
Denny's Carb Shop electronic distributor, NIB w/receipt, uninstalled ($300 value).
Newly rebuilt 12v generator, NIB with receipt, + extra generator w/regulator, ($150 value).
Starter installed, appears new. ($75 value).
New fuel sediment bowl installed. ($25 value)
JD 3-point hitch including rockshaft arms, complete except for bolts. ($400 value).

I figure that I bought a good condition tractor for $800, that also came with almost $1000 worth of extras.
Wish I could buy stock like that!

Parts Needing Attention:
Dash is detatched, but came with two, one with oil and amp gauge, key switch, coil & ballast.
Frame weld repair on pulley side where frame attaches to main case (not recent).
Steering wheel is bare metal, missing all grip material.
Seat frame is included but has no seat cushions.
Lots of rust out on right-side grill especially. Most other sheet metal is fair.

Missing Parts:
Missing battery box.
Missing starter box cover plate from bottom of case.
Missing headlights & taillight.
Missing throttle and governor control rods.
Missing all shutter hardware except for the control lever on pedestal.
Missing brake shoe assemblies. Drums off and highly corroded on inside pad surface.
Missing carburetor, Andy sent to Treadwell carb rebuilders. Verified (est. rebuild cost 175)
Missing exhaust pipe and muffler. Manifold covered with plastic bag against rain.
Missing serial number tag, but based on square axle, it's later than 260984 (a late 50/51 model).
