Big Ooops!
Once around the block, then the left wheel falls off.
Should have tightened that collar better, Hill !

She MOVES again!!!

She breaths again!!!
Got her started
today for first time.
I'm keeping a journal of the restoration (inspired by Terry and Carolyn's Tractor
Pages )
which I'll be posting as I get further into the project.
First, I have to get the tractor from Memphis (Collierville)
to Huntsville. No small challenge.
It's set too wide for my trailer so first I have to get the
wheels off to adjust them in a bit.
Therein lies the challenge -- to do that "on location."
how I got it home from Collierville.
Which is really about getting the rear
wheels off.
One of the first things I did while waiting to get it transported
to my place
was try to understand the drive train from the pulley to
the wheels.
To that end, here's a Drive Train
Description with some of my diagrams that others
might find useful.
(then click the "slide show" icon at lower-right of screen to see
charts full-size.)
(Gene, co-instructor at Meli's Tractor School
helped with understanding things like how reverse works.
Thanks to Meli and Gene.)
Why
I Bought A Tractor
My recently acquired
John Deere B, as it sat in owner's driveway.
Purchased January 31, 2004.
Late styled JD-B, circa 1950.
As it looked the first time I saw it. Not running when purchased.
